Pousada Morena is owned by Morena, which means "dark haired” in Portuguese. That’s her nickname and how everyone in the Island refers to her. Morena has two daughters, Maíra and Luana, who live at the Pousada and help to take care of the business.
The Pousada was founded in 1999, and began as a result of Morena’s long held dream. She imagined that one day she would exchange her bureaucratic job in a bank for a simple and tranquil life in a paradise.
She got a house on the beach, gave it a ‘rustic charm’ and opened it for other people so they could enjoy the paradise too. And still today Morena
personally hosts the same guests who continually return.
